In an effort to better equip local families and individuals for increasingly severe weather and disaster events, Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte is proud to announce a Hurricane Season Emergency Preparedness Training event on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Port Washington Public Library’s Lapham Room, located at 1 Library Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050.
This important community initiative—co-hosted by the Port Washington Fire Department, Port Washington Police Department, the New York National Guard, the Port Washington Public Library, and the NYS Office of Emergency Management—aims to empower residents with the knowledge and tools to prepare for, respond to, and recover from both natural and man-made disasters.
“As storms and emergency events grow more frequent and extreme, the need for community preparedness has never been greater,” said Councilwoman Dalimonte. “This training will help ensure Port Washington families are equipped to protect themselves and their loved ones in the face of disaster.”
