Northwinds Symphonic Band Children's Concert

The Northwinds Symphonic Band will present an afternoon of music, fun for families with children of all ages.

Conductor Helen P. Bauer and Associate Conductor Brandon Bromsey have put together a program designed to engage young listeners and aspiring young musicians.

Band Land, a narrated work for children, tells the story of a neighborhood of instruments who cannot resolve their differences until two instruments from different families fall in love and bring harmony to their musical community.  The arrangement of this piece highlights every section of the band and demonstrates the unique abilities and characteristics of each instrument.

Special guest artists, North Shore Select Dance Ensemble, will take center stage to perform Thunder and Lightning, the percussion feature from Broadway’s Riverdance.

Members from each section of the band will introduce and demonstrate their instruments, and the children in attendance will be given the opportunity to take the podium as guest conductors.
