Community Chest Citizen of the Year: Nancy & Jerry Federlein

Description

Inspired by President Kennedy's call to service, Jerry Federlein joined the Peace Corps to change the world. What he didn't know at the time was that he would meet his future wife, Nancy Smith (who was on a similar mission, Voluntary Service Overseas, on behalf of Great Britain), in Eastern Nigeria in 1966. From that moment, they began a life of community service together that would span decades and enrich the lives of countless Port Washington residents.
