The PWPL Earth Day committee invites YOU to the second outdoor Earth Day celebration at Sunset Park. Back by popular demand, Tony Traguardo, the Library’s resident musicologist and Media Librarian, will lead a band of local musicians in a rocking concert of well-known hits at the John Phillip Sousa Memorial Bandshell. In addition, representatives from the Town of North Hempstead and many other Port Washington environmental organizations will be on site with important information about their latest sustainability initiatives. Stop at their tables to have a conversation. Enter a raffle for a chance to win a TONH Rain Barrel or a Composter for your garden. Take home some cool environmental “swag.” Bring your kids to the children’s table to make a fun eco craft. Most of all, enjoy the music and the water view and find out important ways YOU can make a difference making our community a healthy and sustainable one. Earth Day events are generously funded by the PWPL Friends of the Library.
