The Port Washington Fire Department will host a Community Open House.
The event is designed to give community members an inside look at the Port Washington Fire Department and the important role its volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel play in protecting the community.
During the Open House, community members will have the opportunity to:- Tour fire apparatus and emergency vehicles
- Meet Port Washington firefighters and EMS personnel
- Try on firefighting protective gear
- See demonstrations of firefighting and EMS operations
- Learn about the training and experiences of volunteer members
- Speak with current members about what it is like to volunteer
- Learn how to become a member of the Port Washington Fire Department
The Open House is intended for people of all ages, and families with children are especially encouraged to attend. Visitors will have the opportunity to see firsthand that volunteering with the fire department is about more than responding to emergencies; it is about becoming part of a team, serving neighbors, building lifelong friendships, and making a meaningful difference in the community.
