Name: Taking Charge of the College Admissions Process
    Date: April 8, 2024
    Time: 7:30 PM - 7:30 PM EDT
    Event Description:

The world of college admissions continues to evolve and create more tension for students and their parents. Each year, standardized test policies are updated, costs increase and at many schools, especially the most prestigious ones and those featured each Saturday during football season, applications grow and acceptance rates drop significantly. According to College Navigator, there are now more than 85 colleges and universities with an acceptance rate under 30%.

Students, listening to well-intentioned friends and receiving lots of promotional materials from schools, have a difficult time figuring out how to approach the process and finding the right mix of places that will allow them to reach their dreams.

In this class, independent admissions consultant Rob Browne will teach you clear academic and extracurricular plans, as well as ways to approach the college search and application process, to reduce the stress for everyone in the family.

Rob Browne is the owner of RAB College Consulting, as well as a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Bio-Dental and the University of California, Riverside’s College Admissions Counseling programs. Using his experiences as clinical faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, New York University and Stony Brook University, as well as the Virginia Commonwealth University Office of Admissions and Northwell Health’s Dental General Practice Residency Admissions Committee, Rob helps 8th through 12th graders embrace their strengths and share their stories with colleges.
