Tell us about your business. Where are you located and how long have you been there?

Blank Slate Media is the publisher of 6 award-winning weekly newspapers on the North Shore of Nassau County, and its website www.theislandnow.com. We are the number one source of news and information for the communities we cover, including everything from  government to schools, from sports to community forums and other special events. We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary in March and are proud of our continued commitment to providing the most comprehensive coverage. Our offices are located in Roslyn Heights.

 

What do you like the most about the community of Port Washington?

Port Washington is a community that supports local businesses and well as a variety of causes and social issues.  The people of Port Washington respect one another and show pride with the upkeep of their homes and businesses.  Port Washington is a great town to live and work in because of the wonderful marina, water activities and the variety of cafes, shops and cultural attractions.  There is something for everyone to enjoy.

 

How does your business stand apart from others?

Blank Slate Media is more than just a local newspaper. Not only do we provide local coverage and cost saving coupons, but we host community forums about topics that affect both residents and businesses in Nassau County.  Our open-mindedness allows us to hear points of views from both sides of the spectrum and we always encourage our readers to write in.  Additionally, we help promote the growth of businesses through our annual Best of the North Shore contest.
